-Based on the image above, the overall trend looks to be gradually rising.  After years of consistent temperature readings, th graph seems to be climbing a bit higher, especially in the last 10-15 years.
When plotted, the graph implies this past year (2014) has been colder than the year before it (2013).
This year is one of the few recent years that the temperature dips below the average of 41.5 degrees.  M best guess has this March's reading at 40 degrees.
-For our fair state Wisconsin, this past March has been the 24th coldest on record.  I was 4.3 degrees colder than he average of 28.3.  Our coldest recorded month of March was in 1899 when the temperature averaged a frigid 17.4 degrees!  Our warmest ever March was recently in 2012 when the month averaged over 17 degrees from the norm a 45.6 degrees.
-On a national scale, precipitation in March averages 2.51 inches.  The trend line looks to be staying constant, but every 3-6 years there seems to be a large shift either above or below the trend line. We averaged a bit more precipitation this past Month (2014) than last year's (2013) but less than the year before that (2012), we were still under the average by just 4/5ths of an inch.
-For Wisconsin, this past month we were under the average of 1.80 by about .6 of an inch.  The years of 1976,'77, and 78 seemed a bit peculiar.  The top two recorded months were in 1976 and 1977 at 1.97 and 2.22 inches above the average.  However, the next year 1978, we had our second lowest recording ever of just .38 inches of precipitation, which is 1.42 below the average.
